Downloads Sorter
Pick a messy folder. See where every file will go, then watch them sort themselves into Images, PDFs, Videos, Screenshots and more. Copies of the same file go into Duplicates.

- Files never leave your computer
- Undo puts everything back
1Choose a folder
Your Downloads folder, or any other. Only the loose files at the top are sorted. Folders already inside stay as they are.
Choosing a folder on your computer works in Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop. This browser can't move files in a folder, so open this page in Chrome or Edge. You can still try it on sample files.

Undo works until you close this tab.
How it works
- Your browser opens the folder. Chrome and Edge let a web page read and move files in one folder you choose, after you allow it. This page has no server part. Nothing is uploaded.
- Each file gets a group from its type and name: screenshots and WhatsApp photos are spotted by name, everything else by its extension.
- Copies are found by content. Files of the same size are read and fingerprinted. If two fingerprints match, the files are the same and the extra copies go to Duplicates. The oldest one stays in its group.
- Nothing is deleted. Files only move into folders next to them, and Undo moves them back.
